Background

My name is Rod Sylvester and I am running for the Minnesota House of Representatives seat HD39A which encompasses Columbia Heights, Fridley, Hilltop and Spring Lake Park.  My grandparents and parents are from Central Minnesota, Alexandria area and my parents moved to Northeast Minneapolis when I was a baby.  I am the oldest of 4 children and I have raised a son and a daughter of my own.  I attended Edison High School, went to College in Roseville and was hired by Cargill after graduating with an Accounting Degree.  I returned to school to study Marketing and was hired as a Salesperson in the Electronics Industry.  I have held many positions in Sales and Management and currently a Regional Sales Manager in the Technology Industry.  I am running for House of Representatives to make a difference for the Community where I grew up, live and raised a family, I want to see my community return to the safe and affordable place we call home. As you can see I am not a career politician but a concerned neighbor who is not satisfied with what is going on around us and I am willing to stand up for you and your family.  I think we all agree, public safety, law and order, better schools, an improved economy with lower taxes and less government will help us continue a rich tradition of wonderful communities for our families and our future!  I look forward to meeting and hearing more from YOU on how we can make a better Minnesota.
